Decent value, good location

I booked a junior suite at Tesoro Los Cabos for a quick getaway. I always try to snag a deal, and their early booking discount saved me a solid 30% off the standard rate. That made the price point really attractive. The suite itself was spacious, and having beach club access was a nice perk. I wasn't super impressed with the buffet breakfast, but for the price I paid, it felt worth it. I did check out a few other places, but with the discount, Tesoro offered the best value for that location.

Good time at Ixtapa

Just got back from Tesoro Ixtapa All-Inclusive with the family. The kids club activities were a lifesaver, kept the little ones busy while we actually relaxed by the pool. The food was pretty good for an all-inclusive, lots of choices. Definitely felt like a chill vacation, exactly what we needed.

Considering Tesoro Los Cabos for a family trip. Which resort is generally considered better for families, Ixtapa or Los Cabos? Any insights on kids club activities?

A ArjunD 4 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Ixtapa is often touted as more family-friendly, especially with younger kids. Los Cabos is great too, but Ixtapa usually has more dedicated kids' activities and a slightly calmer vibe. Both have kids clubs though.

V VikasR 4 weeks ago
What kind of activities are we talking about in the kids club?
2
S SonalP 4 weeks ago
Good to know! My kids are 6 and 9. Would Ixtapa still be better for that age range?

P Pooja88 4 weeks ago
We took our family to Los Cabos, and the kids club was decent, but it wasn't packed. The pool was a huge hit though. I've heard Ixtapa has more structured programs.

Pool is always a winner! Thanks for the feedback.

Same here. Los Cabos felt a bit more adult-oriented, but still fine for families.

My Tesoro Resorts discount code isn't working for a Los Cabos booking. I got it from an email, but it keeps saying 'invalid'. Anyone had this issue?

P PoojaR 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Sometimes those email codes are very specific to dates or room types. Did you check the fine print on the email for exclusions?

A AmitM 1 month ago
I thought I did, but I'll double-check. It's for a junior suite.

Could be expired too.

I had a similar problem with a Cyber Monday offer last year. Turned out it was only valid for bookings made directly on their site, not through a third party. Or maybe it's case-sensitive?

R RahulK 1 month ago
Sometimes a space before/after can mess it up too.

A AmitM 1 month ago
I'm booking directly, so that's not it. I'll try re-entering carefully.

Anyone stayed in an ocean view room at Tesoro Los Cabos? Is it really worth the upgrade from a deluxe room or junior suite? Looking for honest opinions.

R RahulK 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Absolutely worth it in Los Cabos! The views are incredible, especially at sunset. We had a junior suite with ocean view, and spending mornings on the balcony was the highlight. A deluxe room might not have the same direct view.

S SmitaN 2 weeks ago
That's what I was hoping to hear! Thanks.
7
A Anjali 2 weeks ago
Did you get a higher floor for better views?
5
V VikramS 2 weeks ago
I had a deluxe room that was 'partial ocean view' once and it was mostly a parking lot. If you want the ocean, pay for the full ocean view. Otherwise, save the money.
12
S SmitaN 2 weeks ago
Good to know the difference! Don't want a parking lot view.

Same here. Partial views can be deceiving.

Just booked Tesoro Manzanillo for spring break. Anyone stayed there recently? Wondering about check-in/check-out times and if they're strict.

R Rajesh87 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Hey! We were there last month. Check-in is usually 3 PM and check-out is 12 PM. They were pretty flexible with us for a late check-out for an extra fee, just ask at the front desk.

S SoniaG 1 month ago
Was it busy during spring break season when you went?

P PriyaK 1 month ago
Good to know about the late check-out option, thanks!

Mine was 3 PM / 12 PM too. They seemed pretty strict about it when I was there last year, but maybe it varies.

Hmm, seems like it's hit or miss then.

Probably depends on occupancy.

Just got back from Tesoro Ixtapa and the all-inclusive plan was a little confusing. What's *actually* included in the Tesoro Resorts all-inclusive plan nowadays? Felt like some things were extra.

A AnandV 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
It generally includes all meals (buffet, some a la carte), drinks (local brands, some premium might be extra), and basic activities. Spa treatments, special romantic dinners, and some water sports are almost always extra. Did you have issues with specific items?
10
K KavitaJ 2 weeks ago
Yeah, the poolside bar service charged me for a specific cocktail I thought was included. And some of the 'water sports' were just free equipment, not guided tours.
3
S SwatiM 2 weeks ago
Definitely check their website or ask at check-in for the most current list.
5
R RaviP 2 weeks ago
Mine included all buffet meals, snacks, and most drinks. A la carte restaurants sometimes have a surcharge or require reservations. It varies a bit by resort too, I think.

M MohitL 2 weeks ago
It's never *everything*, always read the fine print.
6
K KavitaJ 2 weeks ago
That makes sense, the a la carte place did have an extra charge.

Hey, thinking of booking Tesoro for spring break. Do they usually have any good deals for that time or should I just book now?

C Chris J. 3 months ago
Yeah, they almost always have Spring Break offers. I think I saw something about early booking discounts too, so maybe check that out.
0
C Cleo 3 months ago
They do seasonal sales, but spring break is a peak time so discounts might not be as huge. You can usually snag 15-45% off depending on when you book. Check their 'deals' page.

Is airport transportation usually included in Tesoro Resorts bookings, or is that always an extra cost? Booking for Ixtapa.

A AnkitG 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
It's usually an extra cost, unless you book a specific package that explicitly says it's included, like some all-inclusive deals. Always check the fine print or add-ons section.
18
N NikhilS 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I figured. Just hoped it might be part of the base rate.

M MeenaL 3 weeks ago
Some credit cards offer travel perks that might cover it, just an idea.

S ShaliniR 3 weeks ago
Mine was not included for Manzanillo. I booked a shuttle separately through a local company which was cheaper than the hotel's offering.
12
R RaviP 3 weeks ago
Which company did you use?
1
N NikhilS 3 weeks ago
Good tip, I'll look into local options too.

Does anyone know if Tesoro Resorts is legit? Or like, is it one of those places that looks good online but is sketchy in person?

J June 3 months ago
Nah, Tesoro's a solid brand in Mexico. Been around forever. My family usually goes to the Manzanillo one and it's always been good.
6
B Beth 3 months ago
They're a well-known Mexican hospitality brand, like pretty legit. Not some random new place. They have properties in popular spots like Ixtapa and Los Cabos.
